Past Programs
World of Whales
In 1997, we launched our first major outreach program in 1997, hosting Dinamation's “World of Whales” at the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration's (NOAA) Science Learning Center in Silver Spring , MD. More than 11,000 visitors attending, half were walk-ins, half were children as part of a school field trip.
Mini-Science Carnival
In 1999, we brought Pacific Science Center's “Traveling Mini-Science Carnival” to White Flint Mall in Rockville, MD., where we were visited by nearly 8000 visitors, primarily school-age children. With the help of 55 volunteers, who donated 1,388 hours, we presented 19 hands-on science exhibits focusing on the physical sciences.
